About

Who am I?

I am a creative soul struggling to find balance, stability, organization, and peace in a chaotic world. I commute 40 minutes each way to my day job, and when I come home, I just want to escape. This blog is a documentation of my struggles to negotiate deals with my abstract random nature on a weekly (if not daily) basis.

Why ‘abstract-random’? Well, in my day job, we do lots of things like assessing our personalities and learning styles in a plethora of ways, and one of the assessments gave me this descriptor as my learning style, and it struck a nerve.

I am a reliable employee, and I am praised by my co-workers and clients for my effectiveness, but when I come home, I feel like my life is in chaos. From cleaning to crafting projects, and from finances to self-care, I never seem to get myself on track–always running a few steps behind, which elevates stress hormones and makes me want to loll about on the couch with chocolate and true crime documentaries.

But as a woman of a certain age, I am no longer satisfied with my ‘fight or flight’ life. I want inner peace, dammit. And if this blog can help others tackle an abstract random personality and find some balance, then I will have done something nice for the world. So, welcome to the hot mess that is my life. šŸ™‚
